ROLE SYNOPSIS

The Procurement organisation at bp aspires to be a world‑class, business‑centric function that delivers efficiency, effectiveness, and exceptional collaborator experience. As bp advances its transformation agenda, Procurement plays a key role in enabling short‑, medium‑ and long‑term business strategies.

The Procurement Sourcing team, part of the S2C (Source‑to‑Contract) pillar, leads bp's global approach to sourcing third‑party supply‑driving efficiency, value creation and alignment to category strategies.

In this role, the incumbent will:

  • Lead strategic, high‑complexity major deals within the Digital & Talent category on a global scale.
  • Lead the creation and execution of deployment plans across people, processes, and systems to industrialize sourcing excellence throughout bp's Procurement organisation.
  • Work across multiple areas in bp's Digital & Talent organizations, gaining unique exposure to bp's diverse businesses and priorities.
  • Demonstrate strong commercial foresight, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to influence partners at all levels.
  • Lead and develop a team of senior sourcing professionals while ensuring adherence to bp's Category Management Policy (CMP), local regulations, and governance frameworks.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Strategic Leadership & Value Delivery

Provide strategic oversight for sourcing initiatives within the Digital & Talent category, ensuring alignment with business goals, risk frameworks, and value‑delivery expectations. Guide the team on major deal negotiations to drive innovation, commercial outcomes, and stronger market engagement.

Negotiation & Partner Influence

Lead high‑value, sophisticated negotiations using advanced commercial strategies. Build strong relationships with senior partners (VP/SVP level), acting as a trusted advisor to ensure sourcing priorities support business needs and risk mitigation.

Sourcing Excellence & Compliance

Champion best‑in‑class sourcing practices grounded in market intelligence, robust processes, and a consistent procurement experience. Ensure full adherence to bp's Category Management Policy, S2C controls, regional governance, and Delegation of Authority standards.

Team Leadership & Culture

Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing sourcing team, fostering continuous improvement, growth, and capability building. Cultivate a psychologically safe and inclusive environment where team members feel respected, empowered, and confident to share ideas.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in any field (Master's degree is an advantage).
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in global procurement or strategic sourcing, including 5 years in a leadership role.
  • At least 3 years managing Major Deals/Projects within Digital & Talent categories (e.g., IT, Professional Services, Consulting, Travel, Real Estate, Banking).
  • Proven experience leading multi‑cultural global teams and delivering complex sourcing strategies.
  • Strong capability in strategic sourcing, contract drafting, commercial negotiations, and supplier management.
  • Experience in matrixed global organisations with cross‑cultural collaboration.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior executives and drive strategic business outcomes.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

  • Working knowledge of Ariba Source‑to‑Pay, Salesforce, Fieldglass, Fairmarket, and other procurement‑related systems.

Shift Requirement: This role requires working in a shift schedule from 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM to enable effective collaboration with global partners across multiple time zones.
