Job summary

Responsibilities

• Leadend-to-endsolutiondesignforclients(Aviation industry)andinternalproductinitiatives,includingtechnology selection (build vs buy, framework choices, cloudservices, integration patterns).
• WorkwithclientbusinessandITtotranslatebusinessrequirementsintosolutionarchitecture and an executable delivery plan, with System Analystsupport.
• Definefunctional and non-functional specifications (performance, scalability,reliability, security,dataprivacy,maintainability)andensuretheyareexplicitlyaddressedinthedesign.
• Producearchitectureanddesignartefactsthatengineerswilluseasdevelopmentinput, including (as applicable):
  • Securitydesignconsiderationsandoperationalmonitoring/logging approach
  • ArchitectureDecisionRecords(ADRs)andtrade-off analysis
• FacilitateArchitectureDesignReview(ADR)sessions:preparetheADRpack,drivealignment, incorporate feedback, andobtain approval before engineers commence development.
• Partnerwith engineers during delivery to ensure the implementation matches approvedarchitecture;reviewkeytechnicaldesigns,de-riskhardpartsearly,andmanagearchitecture deviations.
• CollaboratecloselywithSystemAnalyst(s)toensurerequirementstraceability(requirement → design → build → test),andsupportthedeliveryteamthroughout implementation.
• Ensureengineeringbestpracticesareapplied(maintainability,testability,CI/CDreadiness, documentation quality) andmentor team members on architectural thinking.

Requirements

• UniversitydegreeinComputerScience,Engineeringorarelevant field
• Provenexperiencedesigningscalablebackendarchitecture(microservices,scheduler,event-drivenpatterns) and integration approaches (APIs, web services, message queues).
• Strongunderstandingofdatamodellinganddatabasedesign(e.g.,PostgreSQL,MongoDB)and ability to make pragmatic choices based on access patterns andreliability needs.
• Familiarity with modern developmentstacks used by the team (e.g., Python + frameworks; React/TypeScriptforfullstack)andtheabilitytoproducedesignsengineerscanimplementquickly and correctly.
• Experiencewithcloudarchitecture(e.g.,AWS,Huawei),CI/CDpipelines,and containerization/orchestration(Docker/Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Strongdocumentationandcommunicationskills:canwritearchitecture/designspecifications,run design reviews, and explain trade-offs clearly in English.
