Solar Sales Manager (Commercial & Industrial)
1. Business Development & Lead Management
- Identify and engage potential commercial and industrial clients (factories, warehouses, malls, etc.).
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships through presentations, meetings, and site visits.
- Manage leads from initial inquiry to deal closure, ensuring a professional and consultative sales approach.
- Work with engineering and project teams to prepare proposals that meet client needs and compliance standards.
2. Technical & Financial Proposal Preparation
- Estimate optimal system size based on site conditions, client load profiles, and export/no-export limitations.
- Perform preliminary yield estimation (kWh/kWp/day), energy offset analysis, and payback calculations.
- Prepare and issue quotations and commercial proposals including system design summary, pricing, and ROI.
- Ensure accuracy of technical data and cost assumptions for all proposals.
3. Quotation, Pricing & Negotiation
- Prepare and review project costing, quotation breakdowns, and optional add-ons (e.g., monitoring, structure type).
- Understand key cost components — panels, inverters, BOS, installation, and soft costs — to quote competitively.
- Negotiate pricing and contract terms with clients under NEM, NOVA, or SARE frameworks.
- Support contract documentation and coordination with TNB, SEDA, and internal EPC teams.
4. Market & Regulatory Knowledge
- Stay updated on NEM 3.0/NOVA frameworks, CGPP programs, tax incentives (e.g., GITA), and SARE structures.
- Understand commercial tariff types (ETOU, C1, C2, etc.) to calculate energy savings accurately.
- Benchmark market pricing, competitor offerings, and technology trends in C&I solar solutions.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Any diploma/degree.
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in solar or renewable energy sales, preferably C&I scale.
- Proven track record of securing projects in the 30 kWp – 1 MWp+ range.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of solar PV system components and layout design.
- Ability to estimate system capacity based on roof area, load profile, and export limits.
- Competent in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets for ROI & payback calculations.
- Familiar with proposal tools, CRM systems, and presentation software.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and target orientation.
Preferred (Advantageous)
- Familiar with SARE agreements, TNBX processes, and NOVA/NEM applications.
- Experience with AutoCAD or PVsyst for conceptual design.
- Existing client network in industrial estates or commercial sectors.
- Fluent in English and Malay (Mandarin or other languages an advantage)
