OVERVIEW
As a Software Test Manager you will own the strategy, planning, delivery and continuous improvement of all testing activities for your assigned product. You will lead a team of QA and automation engineers, drive quality metrics, champion best practices and ensure every release meets our zero‑defect standards. You thrive at the intersection of people management, process governance and hands‑on test automation in an Agile/DevOps environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Define and document a test strategy for functional, integration, regression, performance, security and UAT phases for your product.
- Estimate testing effort, set milestones and negotiate scope with Product Owners and Project Managers.
- Balance manual vs. automated coverage based on product risk, complexity and release cadence.
- Team Leadership & Coaching
- Build, mentor and manage a multi-disciplinary QA team (manual testers, automation engineers, UAT coordinators) allocated to your product.
- Foster a culture of ownership, continuous learning and cross‑team collaboration.
- Process Improvement & Governance
- Define, enforce and refine QA processes, standards and templates (test plans, test cases, defect workflows) specific to your product.
- Track key metrics—test coverage, defect density, pass/fail rates, cycle time—and report status to the Head of QA and product stakeholders.
- Lead post‑release retrospectives and implement lessons‑learned to close quality gaps.
- Automation & Tooling
- Architect and maintain test automation frameworks (Katalon Studio, Selenium, Postman, JMeter, etc.) for your product suite.
- Integrate automated suites into CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins) for nightly and on‑demand test runs.
- Coach the team on data‑driven, maintainable scripting practices and coding standards.
- Collaboration & Release Management
- Partner closely with Product, BA, Development and Support teams to clarify requirements, triage defects and validate fixes.
- Oversee UAT planning and execution with our clients, ensuring robust feedback loops and timely sign‑off.
- Lead “go/no‑go” release gate reviews, risk assessments and defect mitigation plans.
- Stakeholder Communication
- Serve as the primary QA interface for your product—communicating progress, risks and release readiness to customers, product sponsors and the Head of QA.
- Produce concise but data‑rich test reports, dashboards and executive summaries.
- Proactively surface blockers and major defects—driving swift resolution across functions.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or related field.
- At least 6‑8 years in software testing across the SDLC, with at least 2 years in a test leadership or management role.
- Hands‑on experience with manual testing and automation using Katalon Studio (or equivalent tools).
- Strong SQL skills (MySQL, PostgreSQL, PL/SQL) and familiarity with API testing (REST/SOAP).
- Deep understanding of Agile/DevOps methodologies, CI/CD workflows and test‑driven development.
- Excellent people‑management, communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
- Financial services or banking software domain experience is a strong plus.
- Professional certifications (e.g. ISTQB, CSTE) are desirable but not mandatory.
