A dynamic marketing agency in Kuala Lumpur seeks a skilled social media manager to lead content creation and engagement for sports and esports brands. The ideal candidate will have 3-6+ years of experience, fluency in English and Mandarin, and strong video editing skills. You will craft innovative campaigns, analyze metrics, and engage communities through trending content. Bring Brands to Life: Craft scroll-stopping content and campaigns across Facebook, Instagram, Xiaohongshu, TikTok, Twitter, and LinkedIn – with a heavy focus on sports and esports brands.
Be the Data Guru: Track, analyse, and turn social media metrics into winning strategies and actionable insights.
Collaborate & Conquer: Work closely with the marketing team to integrate social into every brand story.
Engage & Elevate: Become the authentic voice of sports/esports clients, sparking conversations, building loyal communities, and managing comments/replies in real time.
Stay Ahead of the Curve: Keep up with the latest social trends, platform updates, and viral moments – especially in the fast-moving sports and gaming world.
Campaigns That Pop: Plan and execute bold, creative campaigns and live event takeovers that create buzz and leave a lasting impression.
Go Global: Travel overseas regularly to attend and cover major international tournaments, esports events, and sports activations (on-site content creation is a big part of the role).
Empower Clients: Train and guide sports/esports brand teams so they can maintain a strong social presence long-term.
Experience Matters: 3–6+ years in social media or digital marketing, with strong experience handling sports, esports, gaming, or lifestyle brands (agency experience is a big plus).
Platform Pro: Expert-level knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, XHS, TikTok, and Twitter/X.
Campaign Champion: Proven success planning and running high-engagement social campaigns, live event coverage, and viral moments.
Tool Mastery: Fully comfortable with scheduling tools (Sprout Social, Hootsuite, etc.), analytics platforms, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut/Premiere Pro/Final Cut Pro.
Video Editing Superpower: Strong video editing skills are a HUGE plus (reels, highlights, hype videos, live recaps – you can cut fast and make it look epic).
Bilingual Ninja: Fluent in English AND Chinese (Mandarin) – you’ll be creating and managing content in both languages daily.
Creative Genius: Killer copywriting (ENG & CHN), meme fluency, fast-turnaround visuals, and the ability to capture the raw energy of live events.
Live Event Ready: Willing and excited to travel overseas frequently (multiple times a year) to cover international tournaments and activations – passport ready, camera always charged.
Community Builder: Experience running real-time engagement during live events, Discord communities, and passionate fan bases.
Team Player & Self-Starter: Works seamlessly with marketing, creative, and client teams while owning deliverables under tight deadlines.
Trend Tracker: Obsessed with sports culture, gaming meta, viral formats, and emerging platforms.
