Job summary

A leading manufacturing firm in Malaysia is looking for an Engineering professional to optimize work methods, establish maintenance programs, and ensure productivity. The ideal candidate will have a Diploma or Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic, Mechanical, or Mechatronic) along with at least 2 years of experience. Proficiency in 5M1E methodology, IPC standards, and hands-on experience with ASMPT platforms are crucial. Fluency in Mandarin will be an advantage, as the role includes communication with clients in China.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of 5M1E methodology.
• Familiarity with IPC standards important for SMT manufacturing.

Job description

Responsibilities

• To define work methods in accordance to process specification.
• To define and establish maintenance program inclusive of calibration on production equipment and perform all scheduled or breakdown maintenance.
• To be responsible for maintaining & improving the process yield in all related area.
• To liaise with customer technical personnel on issues related to process improvement, jig / fixture fabrication / modification and new Assembly method implementation.
• To liaise with customer’s technical personnel on issues related to process improvement, jig / fixture fabrication/ modification and new Assembly method implementation.
• To liaise with Sub Con section and issues related to product quality testing system and assembly process from appointed Sub Con House.
• To look for better solution and Assembly process related problem.
• To improve machine and process capability to enhance productivity and yield.
• To lead and train a team of Technicians and operators to control the process.
• To resolve all the quality issues related to process, machine and operator skill.
• To approve on all the process control check sheets results.
• To evaluate and review the training need and requirement of subordinate to ensure competently and adequate training is provided to carry out their job accordingly.
• To ensure good housekeeping 5S, proper teamwork and co-ordination between all other departments in achieving the compliance of the company’s Quality, Environmental & Occupational, Health & Safety Management System.
• To optimize work methods in accordance to process specification.
• To define and establish improvement program with proper reports.
• To be responsible for all new projects for in-house process development.

Job Requirements

• Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic), Engineering (Mechanical), Engineering (Mechatronic/Electromechanical) or equivalent.
• At least 2 Year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
• Strong understanding and application of the 5M1E methodology for resolving manufacturing issues
• Familiar with IPC standards (IPC-A-610, IPC-7525, etc.) and able to apply these standards to ensure soldering quality, stencil design, inspection criteria, and overall process compliance in SMT manufacturing
• Proficiency in Mandarin (spoken and written) is an advantage, as the role involves communication with China-based customers
• Hands-on experience with ASMPT platforms and Koh Young inspection machinery
