Job summary

A leading construction firm in Mersing is looking for a diligent Site Safety Supervisor to ensure a safe working environment on project sites. You will be responsible for implementing safety policies, conducting inspections, and promoting a strong safety culture. The ideal candidate has a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, with 3-5 years of experience in safety supervision and strong knowledge of safety regulations. This is a contract role until project completion.

Job Summary

We are seeking a diligent and experienced Site Safety Supervisor to ensure a safe working environment on our project sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and enforcing safety policies, conducting regular inspections, and promoting a strong safety culture among all workers, subcontractors, and site personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enforce compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and site-specific safety plans.
  • Conduct daily site inspections and safety audits to identify potential hazards and ensure safe work practices.
  • Lead toolbox talks, safety briefings, and training sessions for all on-site personnel.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, or near-misses and prepare detailed reports with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Maintain and update safety documentation, including incident logs, inspection reports, and risk assessments.
  • Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to ensure their compliance with safety standards.
  • Monitor use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety gear.
  • Work with site management to implement improvements and preventative measures.
  • Liaise with government and regulatory bodies as needed (e.g., OSHA, DOSH, local authorities).
  • Support emergency response planning and drills.
Job Requirements
  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in construction, engineering, or industrial safety supervision.
  • Strong knowledge of workplace safety laws and regulations.
  • Excellent observational and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions.
