Job summary

A leading safety management company in Kuala Lumpur seeks a Safety Officer to assist the Safety Manager with health and safety matters on project sites. The role involves ensuring compliance with government regulations, conducting site inspections, and managing safety records. Candidates must hold a relevant certificate or degree and have at least 3 years of experience in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, and knowledge of ISO requirements.

Job description

To assist Safety Manager / Safety Officer on safety, Health and Environment (SHE) matters relating to the implementation of work requirement of project sites.

Ensure Safety, Health and Environment system compliance with government regulation and requirements.

Perform site inspection and audit in ensuring all safety methods and regulations are being observed.

To ensure all work activities, procedures, processes, etc. are implemented according to OSH Act, Factories And Machinery Act and other local authorities on safety and health matters.

To ensure and maintain good safety plan for the safe working environment.

To develop accurate OSH report and to maintain relevant safety records.

Planning, co-ordinate and conduct SHE activities, training and program.

Able to responsive to local authorities' requirements.

Able to identify potential risks and recommend practical and cost effective solution in safety management.

To ensure workers' basic amenities and welfare has been properly attended.

To attend all project’s Safety and Health meetings.

To carry out any other duties as and when instructed by the Management from time to time.

Job Requirements:
  • Must possess at least a Professional Certificate or Diploma / Bachelor Degree (Environmental/ Health/ Safety) or equivalent discipline.
  • Yellow book holder.
  • At least 3 years of working experience in safety related activities in construction industry.
  • Knowledge in ISO requirements.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
