Job summary

A dynamic power company in Malaysia is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Professional to oversee maintenance activities across its plants. The ideal candidate should have a diploma in Electrical Engineering and at least 3 years of experience, preferably in Combined Cycle Power Plant maintenance. Candidates must demonstrate a strong safety orientation and be able to work independently while effectively communicating in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Qualifications

Job description

Edra Power Holdings Sdn Bhd ("Edra") owns and operates 8 power plants across Malaysia, Egypt, Bangladesh and other regions, offering a dynamic work environment for electrical maintenance professionals.

Responsibilities

1. Carry out maintenance activities including investigation of defects, analysis of defects and proceed with rectification as directed.
2. Maintain a high safety‑conscious working environment and ensure compliance with all company and legislative environmental, health & safety requirements.
3. Carry out housekeeping after completion of all work performed by the job holder or by short‑term contractors under supervision.
4. Use enhanced knowledge, skill and experience to teach and improve the skills and abilities of the electrical technicians.
5. Ensure the safe and efficient execution of all electrical maintenance activities.
6. Plan and coordinate all electrical maintenance activities.
7. Comply with all applicable SHEQ, legal requirements and stakeholders’ specifications by establishing policies, programmes and practices in order to conduct operations in a healthy, safe and environmentally sound manner with safety first, quality foremost and pursuing excellence.
8. Perform other additional tasks relevant and necessary to accomplish the company overall objectives, which may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications and Competency

• Diploma or Certificate in Electrical Engineering
• Diploma or Certificate in Electrical Power Engineering
• Certificate in Electrical Engineering (Power)

Minimum Mandatory Competency (License) required:

• Chargeman – Low Voltage System (A0)

Work Experience, Skills and Competencies

1. Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical operation and maintenance.
2. Experience in maintenance of Combined Cycle Power Plant.
3. Experience in maintenance of other industries such as petrochemical plant, heavy industry, oil and gas will be considered.
4. Experience in Maintenance Computerized System (SAP).
5. Technical understanding of electrical preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance.
6. Ability to work with minimum supervision.
7. Good communication and reading skills.
8. Good verbal and written English and Bahasa Malaysia.
9. Ability to read and understand electrical schematic drawings.
10. Computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
