A facility management company in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced Senior Technician to oversee all installation, repair, and upkeep operations for its facilities. The role requires strong technical knowledge of building systems, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to lead maintenance teams. Key responsibilities include planning installation activities, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Office and possess outstanding leadership abilities.
We are looking for an Senior Technician to oversee all installation, repair and upkeep operations of the company’s facilities. You will be the one to ensure that your staff have the best physical resources available to complete their duties accordingly.
An Senior Technician will have a solid understanding of plumbing and electrical systems as well as carpentry and other crafts. They will be well-versed in all maintenance process and health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will also have aptitude in undertaking administrative tasks such as reporting, budgeting etc.
The goal is to ensure the company facilities are well-cared for and adequate to support the company’s business operations.
THE JOBSCOPE
Carry out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues
Check electrical systems of buildings to ensure functionality
Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities
Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary
Monitor expenses and control the budget for maintenance
Manage relationships with contractors and service providers
Keep maintenance logs and report on daily activities
Ensure health and safety policies are complied with
Inspect facilities periodically to determine problems and necessary maintenance
Prepare weekly maintenance schedules and allocate work
Recruit, supervise and train maintenance technicians
Inspect and maintain all aspects of building systems
Contribute to the development of maintenance budget and ensure compliance
Monitor inventory of materials and equipment
Participate in coordination of projects (e.g. renovations)
Ensure adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations
REQUIREMENTS
In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations
Strong technical knowledge of all building systems (electrical, heating etc.)
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Experience in administrative processes (e.g. budgeting, performance management)
Problem-solving aptitude
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Advanced knowledge of building management/engineering
Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations
Understanding of budgeting and performance management
Excellent planning and leadership abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
