Overview

We are looking for a skilled and independent Software Engineer with strong experience in developing, operating, and maintaining cloud-based distributed applications to join our team. You will help develop Alliance Cloud and drive its adoption as the default way for customers to interface with SWIFT Messaging. You will be part of a dynamic, international squad responsible for end-to-end delivery – from design and development to deployment and operations. This is a mission-critical, highly available system and an opportunity to deepen your expertise in cloud-native technologies for building and running robust distributed platforms.

What to Expect

• Work on an application distributed across multiple data centers, built on microservices architecture with Apache Kafka for synchronous replication.
• Use proven technologies such as Java, Apache Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift to deliver 24/7 availability and resiliency.
• Translate business requirements into actionable technical solutions.
• Design, develop, test (including automated unit and integration tests), and support cloud-native applications following DevOps and DevSecOps best practices.
• Contribute to design and technical decisions, and for senior profiles, provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders across different functions, including product owners, product managers, business analysts, architects, and operations.
• Contribute to integration and automated testing efforts.
• Prepare technical documentation and ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Occasionally assist with deployment activities and configuration changes in production.
• Help resolve issues reported by customers or internal teams, ensuring timely and quality delivery.

• Software Engineer: Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience.

• Understanding of event-driven architectures and Apache Kafka.
• Knowledge of DevOps/DevSecOps practices and CI/CD tools (e.g., Git, Jenkins).

Nice-to-Have (Bonus Skills)

• SWIFT Alliance products (Alliance Access, Alliance Gateway, Swiftnet Link) knowledge/experience.
• SWIFT messaging formats knowledge/experience.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-native architectures and running distributed systems.
