A global technology leader is seeking a skilled Senior Sales Manager in Kuala Lumpur. This role includes managing sales operations, developing solution frameworks for GE Vernova's Grid solutions, and collaborating across teams. The ideal candidate has over 10 years of experience in technical or digital solution sales in the Power Utilities sector, with strong communication and project management skills. A Bachelor's degree in engineering is required, and willingness to travel 50% is necessary.
Customer facing staff responsible for winning business through both direct and indirect approaches
Impacts the team's ability to achieve software license, service, quality and timeliness of objectives.
Hold independence in achieving commercial objectives within operating budgets and operating guidelines.
There is moderate autonomy within the role to enter into/execute Commercial arrangements. High levels of Commercial judgment are required to achieve outcomes required.
To drive key activities, including prospecting, strategy planning, executive relationship development, discovery assessment, pilot, GE Vernova Internal and external ecosystem coordination, etc. You will work closely with the other staff members in related GE Vernova businesses to drive and lead growth in software, services and outcome-driven revenue generation. You will partner closely with leaders to drive the creation and development of an overall sales readiness vision in the context of our expanding global business.
Develop & lead a solution selling framework for Grid Software as part of GE Vernova leveraging our GE Vernova Install Base and OEM — tailor deal lifecycle, enablement deliverables, required resources, technology support, maturity model, sales methodology, etc.
Responsible for sales of GE Vernova Grid solutions to Power Utilities (T&D), Telco, Gas and Water industries
Developing specialized knowledge of latest commercial developments in own area and communication skills to influence others. Contributes towards strategy and policy development and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.
Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrated with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems within projects, product lines, markets, sales processes, campaigns or customers. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
Collaborate with Pre-Sales (i.e. Solution Architects, Subject Matter Experts, Product Management, etc.) to formalize the Sales Playbook for target accounts
Support in coordinating across multiple GE Vernova divisions to solve customer challenges and enhance value and loyalty through the introduction of GE Vernova programs. (i.e. User Conferences, Workshops, etc.)
Analyse, develop, increase & maintain sales pipeline of opportunities to ensure that sales goals are achieved.
Actively grow and maintain a transactional & multi-year account plan leveraging Marketing, Product Management, Sales Org, Professional Services, and the Development teams to ensure coordination across the business.
Ensuring a Professional Sales Experience for customers during all aspects of sales process and touch points including Formal meeting agendas, formal follow-up stating sequence of events and next steps in writing, and issue resolution in a timely fashion.
Formulates the winning proposals in partnership with Commercial Operation, Legal, Solution Architects, Country Business Leaders, Account Managers, etc. based on a cohesive strategy that leverages deep knowledge of industry, customer and GE Digital products.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline
Power utilities industry background would be an added advantage.
Minimum 10+ years of technical or digital solution sales or technical experience with in Power Utilities industry, preferably T&D sector.
Proven track record of managing multi-million-dollar sales cycle and successfully closing complicated software deals with multi-party ecosystem management skills.
Have experience in OT software applications (SCADA/EMS, ADMS, DERMS, OT data platform and cyber solutions etc.) .
Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to analyse and resolve problems. Demonstrated ability to lead sales activities/ projects. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
Legal authorization to work in Country
Must be willing to travel 50% or greater within the assigned territory
This role requires advanced experience in both channel and direct Power Utility Software Solution Sales. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Proven experience requiring cross-team collaboration
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
