Senior Sales Engineer- for a Global European MNC (cables, MRO spares)
The role undertakes the responsibility, accountability and corresponding authority to spearhead and manage the sales portfolio and business development of the Company’s product portfolio in the assigned territories, namely Southern Malaysia and Perak state. These include budgets, plans, policies, new business activities and programs to achieve the short and medium term strategic, financial and operating objectives of the business, under the direction and guidance of the Sales Manager / General Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Develops the business plans and activities and coordinates sales & marketing strategies to meet business objectives and achieving maximum results.
- Continually evaluates the sales & marketing strategies and plans to meet changing market and competitive conditions. Direct, guide and coordinate the efforts of the team to ensure accomplishment of the overall business objectives.
- Undertake industry and product segment training for the sales team, with the objective of imparting knowledge about the industry, customers’ base and focus, in-depth knowledge about the products and its applications, including solutions selling.
- Transfer knowledge relating to consultant, end-users, customer approach and sales techniques to the sales team.
- Provide commercial and technical support to the sales team whenever required.
- Obtain market information relating to competitors’ activities, e.g. products, stock and organizational changes in the assigned sales area and provide reports to the Country Manager.
- Present to, and consult with the Country Manager and Sales Managers on business trends with a view to develop new services, products, and distribution channels.
- Conduct segment meetings regularly with all the sales team to review the opportunity pipeline and analyze the products’ and segments sales performance.
- Determine, manage and optimize the stock level and product profile of the market segment.
- Using existing CRM (C4C) to input sales information, monitor progress and optimize opportunity pipeline management.
- Understand the consultant, end user, customers’ business, behavior and their company structures in order to provide solutions to them.
- Manage key customer accounts and grow opportunities for sales in OEM, Process and IA segments.
- Attend industry functions, understand market trends in process automation, provide feedback and information on market and creative trends and develop propositions.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Business Management / Electrical & Electronics Engineering with more than 5 years’ experience in building and industrial automation sales,
- Sales experience required.
- Good presentation, communication skills and able to work independently.
