Overview

Overview / Responsibilities D&B is currently recruiting for a Senior Risk and Safety Consultant who aspires to be part of a team, delivering powerful results. Due to our team expansion, this position will be joining our team in Kuala Lumpur as a fulltime employment. The successful candidate will be accountable for Technical Safety Engineering including design, specification and services. You’ll provide discipline conceptual, front end and detailed design input to Petro-Chemical, oil and gas projects and technical studies; engineering support to the construction/commissioning phases; and maintenance and operation as required.

Position Specifics & Deliverables

Responsibilities
  • Manage the execution of technical safety work scopes.
  • Conduct and guide consequence modelling.
  • Conduct and guide numerical analysis.
  • Undertake report writing.
  • Review consultant’s report, to check and ensure the technical quality of the report.
  • Assist and liaise with team leaders and clients on a day to day project activities.
  • Lead projects, from time to time.
  • Assist proposal team from time to time, by providing man-hours and technical support for sales technical queries
  • Facilitate technical safety workshop (e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, ALARP & SIL) will be added advantage, however, it not mandatory.
  • Familiar and able to conduct formal safety assessments such as QRA, FEA, NHHA, etc and safety case preparation.
Skills / Qualifications
  • An engineering degree with 5 years and above
  • Experience working on upstream and downstream oil and gas projects including offshore developments in SEA and the North Sea.
  • Familiar with Phast/TNO/ Any 3D CFD software
  • Experience in the application of ALARP and inherent safety in design principles
  • Design and specification of safety systems and equipment (including F&G detection, hazardous area classification, active/passive fire protection, escape/evacuation systems)
  • Familiarity with local and international safety regulations, safety engineering codes and standards and industry good practice
  • Brownfields engineering experience will be an advantage
