Job description
Overview

The Senior Researcher is mainly responsible to conduct various research projects, collecting and analysing the data, preparing forecasts, and producing actionable research outputs in monitoring Malaysia’s domestic economy and global economic developments specifically in the manufacturing industry. The incumbent is also expected to draft compelling policy briefs, press releases, speeches, and visual presentations.

Daily Responsibilities
  • Literature reviews and policy analysis.
  • Developing survey instruments.
  • Coordinating with other departments for data collection.
  • Preparing submissions for publication.
  • Contributing to coordinating events such as workshops, trainings, and seminars.
Requirements

Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in economic research and policy analysis with industry background relating to manufacturing.

Prior experience in producing policy briefs, speeches, or public communication materials is a must.

Qualifications
  • Minimum a Bachelor's Degree in a related field such as Economics, Statistics, Business, or Manufacturing Management.
  • Strong research skills including literature review, data collection, and policy analysis.
  • Excellent data analysis and statistical methods.
  • Proficient in preparing detailed reports and presenting findings.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
