Senior Quality Assurance Engineer (Performance Testing)

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Performance QA Engineer is responsible fordesigning, developing, and executing performance test scripts to ensureapplication stability and scalability under various load conditions. This roleinvolves collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate businessrequirements into effective performance test scenarios, analyzing systemperformance, and maintaining comprehensive testing documentation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, and maintain reusable performance testscripts using JMeter and associated frameworks.
• Analyze system and application performance, identifyingbottlenecks and potential issues with strong problem-solving and analyticalskills.
• Develop, manage, and prioritize performance test casesbased on project requirements and critical performance scenarios.
• Maintain familiarity with performance testingdocumentation and ensure adherence to standards.
• Conduct regression, load, stress, and endurance testingto ensure application stability under different load conditions.
• Prepare and submit detailed performance test reports,including metrics, analysis, and recommendations.
• Execute test cases, log defects, and assign appropriateseverity and priority levels.
• Provide regular updates on testing progress to theProject Manager and Test Lead.
• Plan and execute testing across different stages of thedevelopment lifecycle, including defining objectives, quality criteria,strategies, and approaches to ensure seamless integration with developmentactivities.
• Test Web Services (XML/SOAP and RESTful APIs) forperformance using tools such as SoapUI, Postman, or other relevant tools.
• Conduct integration and system testing with SQL Serverdatabases and coordinate user acceptance and release testing.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and vendors to translatebusiness requirements into effective test scenarios, with support from relevantbusiness stakeholders.

WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO BE SUCCESSFUL

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in ComputerScience, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalentprofessional qualification).
• Certification in any relevantPerformance Testing tool is an added advantage.
• Strong proficiency in bothwritten and spoken English.
• Good understanding of AIprompting and capabilities is an added advantage.

Work Experience

• Minimum of 6–9 years ofexperience in Quality Assurance (QA).
• At least 4–5 years of hands-onexperience in LoadRunner/JMeter and Performance Testing.

• Familiarity withBehavior-Driven Development (BDD) and associated tools/frameworks.
