Role Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Process Engineering professional to lead and drive operational excellence within our refinery. This leadership role is responsible for supervising engineering teams, optimizing plant performance, and steering strategic initiatives that enhance safety, reliability, and efficiency across refinery operations.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a team of Process and Process Design Engineers to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations
  • Oversee plant performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and process optimization to maximize throughput and energy efficiency
  • Drive feasibility studies, process design, and project development focused on hazard elimination and continuous improvement
  • Champion refinery performance initiatives including energy efficiency, oil loss reduction, structural upgrades, and technology planning
  • Coordinate capital budgeting, project appropriation, and reappraisal activities in alignment with business goals
  • Ensure engineering designs are safe, practical, cost‑effective, and compliant with safety‑critical standards and risk assessments
  • Support long‑term business planning including 5‑Year Plans and strategic refinery initiatives
  • Provide technical leadership during major operational events such as turnarounds, startups, shutdowns, and catalyst regeneration
  • Conduct performance appraisals, career development planning, and coaching for engineering staff
  • Represent the Process Engineering section in technical committees and ensure alignment with refinery safety and management systems
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in refinery operations or downstream facilities, including exposure to key process units such as distillation, catalytic cracking, hydrocracking, hydrotreating, and coking
  • Proven leadership in engineering roles
  • Strong initiative, leadership qualities, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving capabilities
  • Effective communicator in both English and Bahasa Malaysia (spoken and written)
