Responsibilities

• Drive and execute operational plans set by the Managing Director.

• Lead and coach department heads, setting clear expectations.
• Define and track performance indicators for operational efficiency.
• Partner with the Production Manager on planning and delivery.
• Maintain safety standards and manage operational risks.
• Provide operational updates to the Managing Director.

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive and carry out operational plans and management directions set by the Managing Director and Board, ensuring Malaysia operations meet agreed business and performance objectives.
• Hold end-to-end oversight of Sales & Marketing, Logistics, HR & Administration, Warehouse & Production Planning, and Quality functions, ensuring smooth coordination and effective delivery across teams.
• Ensure strong cross-department collaboration between commercial, planning, logistics, and quality teams to support consistent production flow and reliable customer fulfilment.
• Lead, coach, and assess department heads within the COO’s portfolio, setting clear expectations and maintaining high standards of accountability and execution.
• Define, track, and review performance indicators across all functions under the COO’s scope, covering cost management, operational efficiency, service reliability, and quality outcomes.
• Partner closely with the Production Manager, who oversees production and procurement, to align planning, material readiness, production capacity, and delivery commitments.
• Maintain adherence to safety standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies across all operational functions, while proactively identifying and managing operational risks.
• Provide regular operational updates to the Managing Director and Board and undertake additional responsibilities as required.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline with approximately 10–15 years of experience in senior operations or executive leadership roles within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated track record in leading diverse, cross-functional teams and improving overall operational performance.
• Strong leadership presence with the ability to manage, influence, and develop senior managers.
• Well-developed planning, coordination, communication, and execution capabilities, with a results-oriented mindset.
• High level of resilience, adaptability, and sound judgment when operating in fast-moving, complex situations.
• Proficient in Mandarin, English, and Malay to support frequent communication with China-based stakeholders and local teams.
