We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at our KL office. This role involves working across all project phases, from preliminary design to detailed design and construction. You will contribute technical expertise and leadership to deliver innovative and high-quality engineering solutions that meet client requirements and industry standards.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop detailed mechanical/electrical designs, including calculations, specifications, schematics, and layouts for systems.

• Ensure designs comply with engineering standards, user requirements, and related specifications.

• Prepare and compile tender drawings, tender documents, equipment technical specifications, and tender reports.

• Perform technical analyses, calculations, and simulations to meet safety and engineering regulations.

• Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical/electrical systems to ensure design accuracy.

• Conduct on and off site inspections to monitor progress, resolve technical issues, and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.

• Supervise and verify on-site work to meet specifications, providing technical support to the project team.

• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary engineers, architects, and consultants to provide integrated design solutions.

• Attend design coordination meetings, site meetings, and liaise with external parties, including clients, consultants, contractors, and authorities.

• Prepare progress reports and provide regular updates to the Project Manager/Engineering Manager.

• Review engineering documents, designs, and shop drawings for accuracy and completeness.

• Conduct inspections and audits for quality control, providing findings and recommendations.

• Ensure all project deliverables align with client expectations and meet industry standards.

• Provide technical assistance and solutions for engineering problems encountered during design or construction phases.

• Participate in the commissioning of systems and develop documentation in collaboration with sub-contractors.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

• Min 3 - 5 years with work experience in engineering or building and construction works, HVAC & cleanroom.

• Candidate with a positive attitude, a strong willingness to learn, and excellent attention to detail are encouraged to apply.

• Good communication skills, both oral & written.

• Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel). Familiarity with AutoCAD is an added advantage.

• Strong knowledge of mechanical or electrical systems, construction practices, and relevant standards/codes.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• A team player with a positive working attitude, ability to work effectively in a project-based environment and meet tight deadlines.

• Possess own transport and be willing to travel to project sites across Malaysia to support the constructions.

• Experience in design and construction for Semiconductor and / or life science facility is an advantage.
