Job Overview

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for leading the design and development of mechanical systems and components for automation equipment and industrial machinery. The role involves creating innovative solutions, ensuring manufacturability, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver high-quality designs that meet customer requirements and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design of mechanical components, assemblies, and automation systems using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.).
  • Ensure designs meet functional, safety, and cost requirements.
  • Perform tolerance analysis and material selection.
  • Manage design projects from concept to completion.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior designers.
  • Prepare detailed engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications.
  • Maintain design documentation for internal and customer approval.
  • Work closely with electrical engineers, project managers, and production teams.
  • Support assembly and commissioning by resolving design‑related issues.
  • Identify opportunities for design optimization and cost reduction.
  • Stay updated on new technologies and industry trends.
Requirements
  • At least a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent experiences.
  • At least 5 years of experience in mechanical design within a sheet metal fabrication or automation background.
  • Experience supporting complex mechanical assemblies is an advantage.
  • Proficient in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, Creo).
  • Strong knowledge of sheet metal design, fabrication processes, and mechanical assemblies.
  • Familiar with BOM structure, engineering drawings, and GD&T.
  • Have knowledge of machining processes, fasteners, and surface finishing.
