Job description
Summary

As the Senior Manager, Strategic SCM, you will be the primary supply chain focal point for critical customers within our Capital Equipment (CE) segment. Based at our Johor site, you will oversee the supply chain ramp-up and execution, ensuring that customer requirements are met through proactive planning, demand management, and inventory optimization.

This is a high-impact, customer-facing leadership role. You will bridge the gap between customer strategy and site operations, working directly on the manufacturing floor and collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement optimized supply chain models.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Execution
  • Establish 3-to-5-year supply chain plans and objectives aligned with both Celestica and Customer requirements.
  • Oversee the end-to-end supply chain ramp/execution for the Johor site, including "Plan for Every Part" (PFEP) strategies.
  • Manage department budgets, goals, and resource allocation to ensure unit operations meet critical schedules.
Customer & Relationship Management
  • Act as the primary SCM focal point for the customer, maintaining high-level relationships with customer VPs and GMs.
  • Lead complex negotiations and build cross-functional partnerships to gain support for strategic initiatives.
  • Translate customer demand into actionable supply chain strategies, providing regular updates on inventory and supply challenges.
Operational Excellence & Inventory Control
  • Drive Clear-to-Build (CTB) visibility and manage materials availability throughout the product life cycle.
  • Optimize inventory levels and mitigate Excess & Obsolete (E&O) risks to maximize Return on Investment (ROI).
  • Collaborate with Commodity Management and Manufacturing to reduce material costs and respond to global supply risks.
  • Ensure compliance with customs, regulatory laws, and international logistics/transportation standards.
Team Leadership
  • Provide direct and indirect supervision to a diverse team of SCM professionals.
  • Focus on employee development, performance management, and fostering a culture of initiative and creative problem-solving.
Key Requirements
  • Experience: 12+ years of progressive experience in Supply Chain Management, preferably within the Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) or Semiconductor industry.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.
Technical Knowledge
  • In-depth understanding of global distribution, inventory management, and "Clear to Build" processes.
  • Strong knowledge of strategic commodities, industry pricing trends, and supply/demand dynamics.
  • Familiarity with import/export regulatory requirements and integrated IT business applications (ERP/MRP).
Soft Skills
  • Self-directed and results-oriented with a proven ability to take initiative.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, on-site manufacturing environment and build rapport on the shop floor.
  • Exceptional multitasking and time management capabilities.
