A leading technology company based in Seberang Perai is seeking a Senior Manager, Quality to oversee quality metrics for transceiver products. The successful candidate will manage teams, ensuring effective quality systems are in place while driving continuous improvement initiatives. With a Bachelor's in Science or Engineering preferred, applicants should have extensive experience in managing quality-related matters and demonstrate strong leadership and problem-solving skills in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
The Quality Assurance Manager will report directly to the Senior QA Manager or QA Director. The role requires more than eight years of experience managing teams composed of engineers and technicians. The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving site Quality Metrics, with a focus on identifying and implementing best practices, as well as driving continuous improvement throughout the organization.
This position involves managing and developing plans for EFRT (Early Failure Rate Testing) capability and capacity specifically for transceiver products. The manager is expected to assess and recommend improvements to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of Quality systems.
A core responsibility is to own QA product and process health indicators, including DPPM (Defective Parts Per Million) reports, and to analyze QA, test, and process failures in order to drive systematic corrective actions. The manager will participate in cross‑functional teams dedicated to improving product quality and reliability, contributing to both start‑up and ongoing sustaining activities.
Additional duties include verifying defects, handling lot disposition, managing shipment blocking or approval, and generating and closing ICARs (Internal Corrective Action Requests). The manager is responsible for technical evaluations, providing NPI (New Product Introduction) support, implementing and monitoring corrective actions, and generating relevant reports.
The role requires close collaboration with the NPI Team, coordinating efforts to ensure the successful implementation of new products into mass production. The manager will lead continual improvement activities by defining test or process problems that result in quality issues, determining root causes, and implementing effective solutions.
Analyzing and following up on customer‑reported problems is essential, with a focus on implementing containment measures and corrective actions. The candidate must also be willing to support inter‑site assignments as needed.
Bachelor's Degree in Science or Engineering, with a preference for majors in Electronics, Mechatronics, or Mechanical Engineering.
Experience in transceiver module testing and a solid understanding of optical technologies within the industry.
Proven ability to manage quality‑related matters across incoming, in‑process, and outgoing stages.
Proficient in interpreting mechanical drawings and understanding Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Knowledge and experience with mechanical CAD software such as SolidWorks and e‑drawing.
Strong computer literacy and familiarity with Greenbelt Statistical Process Control (SPC) principles.
Demonstrated analytical skills paired with a hands‑on working attitude.
Ability to adapt and remain flexible in response to rapid changes in business needs.
Experience in high‑mix, high‑volume manufacturing environments, and/or assembly, SMT (Surface Mount Technology), and PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) manufacturing is advantageous.
Good understanding of mechanical dimensioning and tolerancing analysis, as well as familiarity with poka‑yoke (error‑proofing) principles, is considered an added advantage.
