Overview
The Senior Manager, Human Resources is responsible for providing strategic and operational HR leadership, ensuring all people-related initiatives and practices align with the company’s business objectives. This position works closely with management and team leaders to deliver first-class HR support and guidance across the full HR spectrum. The role also ensures compliance with employment laws, internal policies, and governance requirements while fostering a positive, high-performance work culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic & Operational HR Management: Develop and implement HR strategies and objectives that align with overall business goals.
- Monitor and track HR performance metrics, ensuring continuous improvement toward departmental and organizational targets.
- Provide professional guidance and leadership to the HRBP and HR Services teams to ensure smooth daily operations across Recruitment, Learning & Development, Industrial Relations, Safety & Health, HRIS, Reward & Compensation, Employee Engagement, CSR, and Payroll functions.
- Policy, Compliance & Governance: Ensure all HR activities, policies, and procedures are compliant with employment laws, regulations, and internal governance standards.
- Maintain up-to-date HR policies and employee handbooks to reflect current legislation and best practices.
- Incorporate Governance, Risk & Opportunities (GRO) principles into daily operations and decision-making processes.
- Ensure all HR processes support ethical conduct and compliance with internal controls, laws, and regulations.
- Employee Engagement & Organizational Development: Research, design, and implement HR initiatives that enhance employee satisfaction, engagement, and retention.
- Partner with leadership teams to drive a culture of performance, learning, and accountability.
- Oversee employee development and succession planning programs to build internal capability.
- Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning: Oversee full-cycle recruitment processes, ensuring quality hires aligned with business needs.
- Analyze recruitment and retention metrics (e.g., time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, turnover rate) and provide actionable insights for improvement.
- Forecast workforce needs and design proactive hiring and talent management strategies.
- Reward & Performance Management: Develop and manage compensation and benefits structures that are competitive and equitable.
- Support performance management processes, including goal-setting, reviews, and recognition programs to drive continuous improvement.
- Data & Analytics: Analyze HR data and trends to support decision-making and improve HR effectiveness.
- Prepare HR-related reports and insights for management review.
- General & Project Support: Lead or participate in HR-related projects, audits, and reports as assigned.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to management and employees on HR-related matters.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity.
- Proven experience in strategic HR management, business partnering, and team leadership.
- Strong understanding of HR systems and tools, including payroll, HRIS, and talent management platforms.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and discretion in handling confidential information.
- In-depth knowledge of Malaysian employment laws and HR best practices.
