A leading development company in Malaysia is seeking a Contract Manager with a Bachelor Degree in Quantity Surveying and at least 10 years of experience in contract management. The successful candidate will oversee extension of time and cost claims while ensuring compliance with contractual provisions. Experience in railway or construction projects is an advantage. This role is integral to project execution and management, supporting legal matters and project close-outs.

Ensure compliances to conditions of contract at all times subject to agreed deviations.
Review and draft (where required) post-Contract Project Correspondences including Internal & External Project Communications
Responsible to support the package contract managers in charge in managing all extension of time and cost claims. Contract Manager should get involved in negotiations where required.
Responsible in providing specialized post-contract advice based on the contractual provisions and applicable laws.
Ensure there is a chronology of particular delay event prepared by the issues’ owners.
Responsible in supporting other Project Contract Management issues which may involve legal or contractual interpretations.
Responsible in assisting and resolving Extension of Time & Delay issues. Advise Project Management Team on any factors likely to affect cost, time or method of implementation for the Project including analysis and report on the application(s) for extensions of time.
Responsible in providing assistance to the Site contract administration and management matters during project execution phase.
Supports the package contract managers in Project Close-Out (Warranty and Defect Liability Period Management)
Responsible for providing support in Project Forensic & Evaluation where required.
Responsible in liaising with the Legal Department in an event of a dispute that may arise. The Contract Manager will facilitate transfer of information from the Contracts Department to the Legal Department.
Candidate must possess at least Bachelor Degree in Quantity Surveying from the recognized Educational Institution.
At least 10 years of working experience in pre-and post-contract/ commercial & legal management is required for these positions.
Experiences in handling multi-million dollars disputes and claims.
Experience in drafting, vetting and negotiation all types of contractual/legal documentations.
Previous working experience in railway project or construction or similar project is an added advantage.
