ROLE OVERVIEW
This role leads the end-to-end medical consumables business, with full accountability for strategy, commercial growth, operations, and compliance. The incumbent will drive institutional sales, manage sterilized product solutions, and build strong clinical and operational partnerships across the healthcare ecosystem.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Business & Strategy Leadership
- Lead the full spectrum of the medical consumables business, including market development, product customization, sterilization operations, and logistics.
- Develop and execute business unit strategy covering commercial growth, operations, and supply chain performance.
- Drive revenue growth through institutional tenders and long-term partnerships with healthcare providers.
Commercial & Market Development
- Identify and engage key customer segments including hospitals, surgeons, distributors, and GPOs.
- Lead tender planning, submission, and negotiations across public and private healthcare sectors.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and institutional engagements to strengthen market presence.
Product, Operations & Compliance
- Lead customization and configuration of medical consumables in collaboration with surgeons and clinical stakeholders.
- Oversee sterilization facility operations, ensuring validated processes, regulatory compliance, and on-time delivery.
- Manage warehousing and logistics to ensure accurate inventory control, efficient pack assembly, and reliable distribution.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards and certifications, including EN ISO 13485, EN 13795, AAMI PB70, and applicable sterilization protocols (e.g. EO sterilization).
Leadership & Governance
- Build and lead a high-performing cross-functional team across sales, operations, QA/QC, and regulatory functions.
- Monitor and report on business performance, tender outcomes, customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and market trends.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or Life Sciences; MBA or equivalent is an advantage.
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience in medical consumables or surgical solutions, including sterilization processes.
- Proven experience managing end-to-end business units or P&L ownership within the healthcare sector.
- Strong track record in institutional tender management and clinical stakeholder engagement.
- Hands-on experience supporting surgical procedures, including in-theatre product demonstration.
- Preferably experienced in surgical procedure packs, especially gowns and drapes.
