Job description

• To ensure department and personal KPIs are achieved
• Design, deploy, and lead the implementation of scalable and highly available on‑premise or cloud based infrastructure and solutions whilst ensuring system security baselines are met and security improvements are implemented
• Design and implement short‑ and long‑term strategic plans to make certain network capacity meets existing and future requirements
• Manages all cloud components and on‑premise virtual servers, network, firewall and internal systems
• Maintains and proactively monitors the following ensuring system availability and uptime:
  • components on resource utilization that supports the infrastructure environment and/or facilities
  • performance by identifying uptime issues, test network and server performance, providing statistics and reports and making recommendations
• Works across teams to ensure IT system upgrades and service pack deployments are implemented with minimal impact to production and internal environment
• Manage and ensure effectiveness of security solutions, including firewalls, anti‑virus solutions, and intrusion detection systems.
• Generates processes to ensure appropriate user privileges and access are granted, ensuring data integrity and security is met
• Participates in the design, implementation, and execution of backup and disaster recovery plan for infrastructure solutions
• Implement and refine cloud future state architectures and roadmaps including architecture standards, guidelines, and industry best practises
• Oversee the administration of user accounts, permissions, and access rights in AD.
• Ensures documentation is developed and maintained (policies, procedures, standards, technical architecture design document, etc.)
• Any other duties that may be delegated by Top Management from time to time

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
• At least 5+years of hands‑on system administration experience in Linux (command line based)/Windows with practical experience designing and building enterprise, virtualized, scalable systems with an emphasis on server and storage
• Technical knowledge of infrastructure components such as Network, Storage, Linux/Windows, Application knowledge of Java, Web, Nginx, Tomcat, Apache, MySQL, Redis and IT security
• Familiar with deployment system (i.e., Git, Maven, Jenkins), collaboration tools (i.e., Jira, Confluence), VMWare, Linux based monitoring tools i.e., Zabbix, Wazuh is an added advantage
• Experience with SIEM, Bash & Python scripting will be an added advantage
• Experience with configuring software defined networking and security configurations
• Experience with cloud adoption, including application readiness assessment, prototyping of new environments, server builds, data migration, performance tuning of cloud environments
