Position Summary

The Senior Finance Manager will lead the full spectrum of financial management for Hong Leong Manufacturing Group, encompassing financial planning, operations finance, cost management, compliance, and strategic decision support. This role is pivotal in ensuring financial discipline, driving operational efficiency, and supporting the business’s strategic growth within the manufacturing environment.

The incumbent will partner closely with the CFO, Operations, and Group Finance to provide financial leadership, insights, and governance across the manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Financial Leadership & Strategy
    • Lead the financial planning and analysis process — including annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and long‑term financial plans.
    • Provide strategic financial advice to senior management to support business expansion, cost optimisation, and profitability goals.
    • Evaluate investment opportunities, capital expenditures, and new manufacturing initiatives to ensure sustainable returns.
  2. Financial Operations & Control
    • Oversee end‑to‑end accounting, reporting, and financial control for the manufacturing entity.
    • Ensure accurate and timely month‑end and year‑end closing in compliance with MFRS/IFRS and Group accounting policies.
    • Drive continuous improvements in financial processes, systems, and controls to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and transparency.
  3. Costing & Manufacturing Finance
    • Manage standard costing, product costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
    • Partner with production, supply chain, and procurement teams to monitor material, labour, and overhead costs.
    • Provide financial insights to support decisions on pricing, yield improvement, and production optimisation.
  4. Business Partnering
    • Act as a strategic partner to the Manufacturing leadership team, providing financial perspectives on operational and commercial decisions.
    • Participate in cross‑functional initiatives to improve productivity, resource utilisation, and operational excellence.
    • Collaborate with Group Finance on consolidation, reporting, and governance matters.
  5. Governance, Risk & Compliance
    • Ensure adherence to statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements.
    • Maintain strong internal controls and compliance with Group policies and procedures.
    • Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities.
  6. Leadership & People Development
    • Lead and develop a high‑performing finance team within the manufacturing division.
    • Build a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement.
    • Mentor team members to enhance business acumen and analytical capabilities.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
  • Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, or CIMA is required.
  • Minimum 12–15 years of relevant finance experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the manufacturing sector.
  • Strong technical knowledge in management accounting, cost control, and financial planning.
  • Proficient in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and advanced in Excel and financial modelling.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven track record in driving financial discipline, operational efficiency, and strategic transformation.
