A leading technology company in Malaysia is looking for a Field Application Engineer to provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support. The successful candidate will have a degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering and at least 5 years of relevant experience. Job description

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive pre‑sales and post‑sales technical support to customers in electronics/electrical components and industrial solutions.

Collaborate closely with the sales and product marketing team to promote, develop, and drive design‑in of principals’ focus product groups.

Perform component engineering activities, including component selection, qualification support, and application optimisation.

Support design‑in activities, product selection, and technical presentations for industrial and mission‑critical applications.

Liaise with principals, suppliers, and manufacturing partners on technical issues, product qualification, and engineering changes.

Support customer design reviews, including schematic, single‑line diagram (SLD), and BOM analysis, as well as on‑site commissioning support.

Assist in failure analysis, root cause investigations, and coordination of corrective actions.

Conduct technical training sessions and product briefings for internal teams and customers.

Support NPI activities, PCN/EOL management, and technical documentation review.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as a Field Application Engineer, Application Engineer, or Technical Support Engineer in the electronics industry.
• Strong knowledge of electronics/electrical components, component engineering, and industrial solutions, including power devices, passive components, or industrial electronics.
• Familiarity with PCBA, SMT processes, and manufacturing environments.
• Ability to read, analyse, and interpret schematics, single‑line diagrams (SLD), datasheets, and BOMs.
• Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Willingness to travel for customer and supplier visits as required.
