Job description

The Sustainability Executive will play a crucial role in supporting the development, implementation and performance monitoring of the company's sustainability strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Sustainability Reporting:

Support or take lead in the collection, curation, analysis and presentation of ESG data in Integrated Annual Report in line with the latest prevailing global and local reporting standards. These include, but not limited to Bursa Malaysia’s Sustainability Reporting Guide, National Sustainability Reporting Framework (NSRF), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), GHG Protocol and other standards such as SBTI, TCFD, GRI, IIRC, SASB etc.

Support or take lead in the collection, curation, analysis and submission of ESG data for global ESG benchmarking agencies such as FTSE4Good / FTSE Russel, Morning Star Sustainalytics, MSCI ESG, S&P Global ESG Score.

Support preparation of internal sustainability updates for various stakeholders such as the MRCB Board, MRCB management, institutional investors, equity analysts and others.

Stay abreast with continuously evolving sustainability standards and reporting requirements.

Sustainability Initiatives and Engagements:

Support the development and implementation of sustainability strategy, policies, standards and procedures.

Collaborate and communicate with various departments to identify opportunities for sustainability improvements.

Support in consolidating, reviewing and managing MRCB’s GHG emissions inventory to ensure that it is on target.

Track and report on key sustainability performance indicators.

Engage external stakeholders, including, industry associations, regulators, government agencies to keep up to date with latest sustainability developments.

Represent the company at sustainability working groups and events.

Engage employees to raise awareness and understanding of sustainability matters across the organisation.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business Administration, Economics, or related fields. Postgraduate qualifications or certifications in ESG, Sustainability Reporting, or Environmental Management are an advantage.

One to three years of relevant working experience. Experience in sustainability reporting for a public listed company would be an advantage.

Proven track record in developing and implementing sustainability strategies and initiatives.

Interest and knowledge on sustainability standards, GHG emissions accounting, and reporting frameworks.

Experience with data management systems and sustainability reporting tools.

Strong communication skills – written and verbal.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and ideally Power BI or other data visualization tools.

Strong project management, stakeholder engagement and analytical skills.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Passion for sustainability and commitment to environmental and social impact.

Self-starter with always keen to take the initiative for everyday tasks.
