Senior Executive- Research Management Department (RMD)
The Senior Executive of RMD will be responsible for managing and enhancing research administration and development at the University of Cyberjaya. The role involves managing research grants, publication data, organising training, handling research claims and purchases, providing research support to faculties, fostering national and international research collaborations, coordinating research policies, and ensuring compliance with ethical and regulatory requirements. The position aims to promote high-impact research and facilitate proactive faculty engagement in research activities to enhance the university’s research profile and QS ranking.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Research Administration & Governance:
- Develop and implement policies, guidelines, and procedures to enhance research management at the university.
- Ensure compliance with institutional, national, and international research regulations, including research ethics and integrity.
- Facilitate faculty research projects by providing administrative and strategic support.
- Oversee research audits and progress reports related to funded projects.
2. Research Grants & Funding Management:
- Manage internal and external research grants, ensuring proper budgeting, reporting, and disbursement of funds.
- Assist faculty members in grant writing, proposal development, and submission.
- Track and report grant performance, ensuring milestones and deliverables are met.
3. Research Collaboration & Partnerships:
- Establish and maintain research partnerships with universities, research institutions, industries, and funding agencies.
- Coordinate Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and research agreements with strategic partners.
- Facilitate interdisciplinary and cross-institutional research initiatives.
4. Research Impact, Publications & Rankings:
- Promote faculty engagement in high-impact research and publication in indexed journals.
- Support the university’s efforts in global research rankings, including QS and THE.
- Manage internal research publication article processing fees and incentives, and manage the university’s research repository.
- Coordinate workshops and training sessions on research writing, publishing, and grant acquisition.
5. Research Ethics & Compliance:
- Manage the ethical review process and ensure adherence to research ethics policies.
- Manage the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and ethics approval for research involving human and animal subjects.
- Ensure compliance with funding agency requirements, including research data management and reporting.
6. Capacity Building & Training:
- Organise research-related training, workshops, and seminars for faculty and postgraduate students.
- Develop mentorship programmes for early-career researchers to enhance their research skills.
- Support faculty in applying for research fellowships, travel grants, and conference funding.
7. Research Commercialisation & Industry Engagement:
- Manage technology transfer activities, intellectual property (IP) protection, and commercialisation of research outputs.
- Collaborate with industry partners to promote applied research and innovation.
- Support the university’s research innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives.
