Senior Executive, Plantations (Coconut Farm)
We are looking for a dedicated Senior Executive to oversee our coconut farm operations in Damai Laut, Lumut. Join us and help drive sustainable growth in our plantations division!
Responsibilities
- Plantation Management
- Oversee all aspects of coconut cultivation, including land preparation, planting, irrigation, maintenance, and harvesting.
- Develop and implement farming plans and schedules to maximize yield and ensure sustainable practices.
- Monitor crop health, identify pest and disease problems, and implement effective control strategies, potentially including organic methods.
- Ensure proper nutrition of palms through appropriate fertilization schedules and soil management.
- Develop and implement coconut replanting programs with high‑yielding varieties as needed.
- Operations & Equipment
- Manage and allocate resources effectively, including labour, equipment, and materials.
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of farm machinery, equipment, and infrastructure (e.g., irrigation systems, drainage).
- Ensure all farm operations comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
- Team Leadership & Management
- Train, supervise and motivate a team of farm workers.
- Coordinate, assign and supervise the work of farm staff, developing work schedules and procedures.
- Foster a positive work culture and handle employee relations, grievances, and disciplinary actions.
- Business & Administration
- Manage budgets, forecast expenditures, and ensure cost‑effective operations.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of all farm activities, including production metrics and inventory.
- Prepare and present regular reports on crop progress, production, quality, and operational efficiency to farm owners or senior management.
- Develop and market coconut downstream business.
- Collaborate with buyers, vendors and processors for the marketing and sale of farm products (e.g., whole nuts, copra, coconut water).
- Additional duties: Assist in acquiring farm certification such as MYGAP and MESTI. Carry out any other duties as and when instructed by the Management from time to time.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Plantation Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of working experience in plantation operations, ideally in coconut, oil palm, or other tree crop environments.
- Experience in managing field teams and day‑to‑day estate operations is an advantage.
- Good understanding of farm machinery, tools, and irrigation systems.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under minimal supervision.
- Strong knowledge of coconut cultivation, including planting, fertilization, pest & disease control, irrigation, and harvesting processes.
