This position plays a crucial role in managing customer accounts, building strong relationships with key industry stakeholders, and supporting business development activities. The successful candidate will act as a key liaison between clients and internal departments, ensuring service excellence, promoting the port’s capabilities, and contributing to the achievement of commercial objectives.

REQUIREMENTS

Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Logistics, Mass Communication, or equivalent.

Minimum 5 years of experience in marketing, key account management, logistics, or related fields, preferably within the port or shipping industry.

Experience in port operations and logistics, complemented by strong knowledge of dry bulk activities, supply chain dynamics, port services and charges, and trade or shipping practices, will be an added advantage.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with customers, and with internal and external stakeholders at multiple levels.

Customer-oriented approach and commitment to delivering business value.

Well-organized, proactive, and able to handle multiple client accounts simultaneously.

Proficiency in both English and Mandarin (spoken and written) is required to support effective communication and collaboration with key stakeholders and business partners.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Account Management & Customer Relations

Lead representative for key customers such as Alliance Steel and Eastern Steel acting as the primary point of contact, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring high-quality service delivery.

Build and maintain strong relationships with industry stakeholders, shipping companies, and trade associations to enhance the port’s reputation and expand business opportunities.

2. Business Development & Stakeholder Engagement

Act as the primary point of contact for new potential clients for MCKIP1, MCKIP2, and MCKILP, managing inquiries, coordinating visits, and facilitating discussions to explore business opportunities.

Assist in promotional initiatives through exhibitions, conferences, advertising campaigns, and trade missions to enhance visibility and attract new business.

3. Operational & Support Functions

Organize and coordinate port visits for clients and stakeholders, ensuring compliance with all safety and security protocols.

Provide administrative and operational support for marketing activities and assist with other assignments as directed by the Head of Department or senior management.
