A leading legal services provider in Malaysia is seeking a Legal Officer to provide proactive legal assistance on property development and related fields. You will draft and review documents, manage legal disputes, and support internal teams on various legal matters. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's Degree in Law and has at least 2 years of experience in the legal field. Familiarity with corporate and construction law is an advantage, and you should be capable of managing multiple tasks effectively.
Providing proactive legal assistance and advice on property development, real estate, construction, and trading activities.
Assist in drafting, reviewing and negotiating legal documents, contracts, tenancy agreements and correspondence relating to operation matters.
Providing proactive legal assistance and advice on various legal issues such as commercial contracts, dispute resolution, government funding agreements, regulatory, and governance.
Ability to manage disputes, if any, relating to tenant’s debt recovery, contractual claims, defects, negligence etc.
Support internal teams in other legal related matters including coordinating with external solicitors or consultants.
Assist in corporate related matters such as joint venture, acquisition, taxes arising from business operation.
Attend to tribunal or small claims, assist to resolve legal disputes, as assigned.
Provide legal guidance in handling employment-related legal matters including disciplinary issues, employee disputes.
Handle trademark filing, registration, renewal, and monitoring of trademark portfolio and ensure brand and intellectual property protection to the company.
Stay abreast and upkeep with the latest legal development in the business of property, construction, and real estate related fields.
Evaluate, build and maintain a good network with law firms and consultants.
Carry out any other job tasks / assignments as and when requested by Senior Management, Department Head or direct superior.
Requirements:
Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor Degree in Law.
At least 2 years of working experience in the related field is required
Strong knowledge of corporate and commercial laws, contract law is required.
Litigation experience or bar training is an added advantage.
Knowledge with construction law related areas law is an added advantage.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
