A legal firm in Penang is seeking a legal professional to provide proactive legal assistance in property development, real estate, and other legal matters. The ideal candidate must have at least 3 years of experience and a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Law. Fluency in Mandarin is preferred as the role includes interaction with Mandarin-speaking clients. Responsibilities include drafting legal documents, managing disputes, and providing advisory on tax implications and trademark matters.
Providing proactive legal assistance and advice on property development, real estate, construction, and trading activities.
Assist Legal Manager in drafting, reviewing and negotiating legal documents, contracts, agreements and correspondence.
Assist in managing construction disputes including claims, variations, delays, defects, and compensation matters.
Support internal teams in compiling evidence, preparing position papers, and coordinating with external solicitors or consultants. Handle registration of new trademark and renewal of each trade mark certificates upon their expiry date.
Providing proactive legal assistance and advice on various legal issues such as commercial contracts, dispute resolution, government funding agreements, regulatory, and governance.
To supervise the tenancy administration process for the mall and office tower, and to ensure tenancy terms are properly documented.
Provide advisory on stamp duty, SST, and GST implications related to contracts and business transactions.
Handle trademark filing, registration, renewal, and monitoring of trademark portfolio and ensure brand and intellectual property protection for the company’s assets.
Provide legal guidance to HR and management as needed and assist in handling employment-related legal matters including disciplinary issues, employee disputes, termination cases, and related documentation.
Evaluate, build and maintain a network of law firms for specific assignments or legal issues.
Carry out any other job tasks / assignments as and when requested by Senior Management, Department Head or direct superior.
At least 3 Year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position. Candidate must possess at least Diploma/ Bachelor Degree in Law.
Candidate fluent in mandarin preferred as role requires candidate to deal with mandarin speaking tenants.
