Job summary

A leading construction firm in Malaysia is seeking a qualified Quantity Surveyor to manage all cost-related aspects of interior fit-out projects. The role involves preparing detailed cost estimates, conducting feasibility studies, and monitoring project costs. Ideal candidates will have a diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying, 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, and proficiency in MS Excel and AutoCAD. Strong negotiation and analytical skills are crucial for success in this role.

Job description

Responsible to manage all cost-related aspects of interior fit-out projects, ensuring accurate estimation, cost control and contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Job Description
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BQ), and tender documents for interior fit-out projects on a pre‑contract stage.
  • Conduct cost analysis and feasibility studies for proposed designs.
  • Source, evaluate and negotiate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers for material & services.
  • Monitor and control project costs throughout the project lifecycle under post‑contract stage.
  • Prepare progress claims, variation orders, and final accounts.
  • Conduct site measurements and verify work done for payment certification.
  • Negotiate contracts and maintain cost efficiency without compromising quality.
  • Highlight potential cost overruns and recommend corrective actions.
  • Perform any other job duties as required from time to time.
Job Requirements
  • Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years in QS role within interior fit‑out or construction industry.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and other software.
  • Strong knowledge of interior fit‑out materials and processes.
  • Excellent negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
