Job description

Oversee the Malaysia Data team’s project delivery and collaborate with colleagues including other regions.

Act as Malaysia’s representative for cross-regional collaborations.

Work using Azure DevOps for project management and deployment.

Data Platform & Solution Design

Work with solution architects to translate business needs into AI/ML solutions.

Design and develop Data Engineering & Analytics solutions using Azure Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, Databricks, Power BI, and more.

Up-to-date and recommend the right AI tools and technologies for projects.

Ensure solutions follow best practises for scalability, performance, security, cost efficiency and governance.

Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for data ingestion, cleansing, transformation, and orchestration data modelling.

Build and deploy AI-powered applications, chatbots, and conversational AI systems.

Develop reliable data models using GPT, machine learning, generative AI, and speech/voice bots with languages like Python, SQL

Implement custom ML models through fine-tuning.

Data Analytics Enablement

Data Analytic tools: Power BI (main). Added advantage: Tableau, Google Looker Studio.

Enable BI teams and stakeholders by delivering clean, trusted, well-modelled datasets and semantic layers for reporting.

Project Implementation

Work with cross-functional teams across regions like Korea.

Manage multiple projects concurrently from inception to deployment and handover.

Stay updated on data services across Microsoft, and exposure to Google, AWS is a plus.

Recommend the best-fit technologies and solutions based on project requirements.

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering or a related field.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in data engineering, bonus if you have experience with Cloud based Data & AI platforms (Azure Machine Learning, AWS Sagemaker, GCP VertexAI, Databricks, etc.)
• Strong hands-on experience with in ETL/ELT, data ingestion, cleansing, transformation and data modelling
• Proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Data Analytic tools: Power BI (main). Added advantage: Tableau, Google Looker Studio.
• Good understanding of data warehousing/lakehouse concepts, performance tuning, and security/governance.
• Self-motivated, results-driven, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
