Job summary

A leading business organization in Malaysia is seeking a qualified finance professional with at least 6 years of experience in accounting to handle various operational tasks, ensure compliance with accounting policies, and support month-end reporting. Ideal candidates will hold a degree in Accounting or Finance, have strong communication skills, and be proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel. Qualifications

  • At least 6 years of combined experience in accounting and finance.
  • Degree in Accounting/Finance; professional certification is a plus.
  • Preferably audit background with experience in a Big-4 firm.

Job description
RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS:
  • Carry out accounting and reporting tasks in accordance with established processes, standard operating procedures, and work instructions, and update process documentation as necessary.
  • Operational activities of fixed asset trade and non-trade and transactional processing of fixed assets and general accounting entries
  • Execute general ledger activities, including recurring and ad hoc accrual/reversal journal entries for operating expenses.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and group reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with other finance teams to ensure alignment and consistency in financial processes.
  • Month end closing report preparation and submission timely and accurately
  • Monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations and investigation of outstanding items.
  • Yearly royalty computation and reporting.
  • Address finance-related inquiries from stakeholders.
  • Foster strong teamwork and build positive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures and applicable legislation.
  • Ensure deadlines and tasks are completed in accordance with SLA requirements.
  • Actively participate in improvement initiatives and support their execution.
REQUIREMENTS
  • At least 6 years of combined experience in accounting and finance. Looking for Mid Senior and Senior candidates.
  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Degree in Accounting/Finance; professional certification is a plus.
  • Preferably audit background with experience in a Big-4 firm.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to take ownership of responsibilities, including self-directed learning and research to effectively complete tasks.
  • Shared services experience preferred.
  • The ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle) and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications like Excel.
  • Solid end-to-end R2R lifecycle understanding.
  • Power BI or Power Platform knowledge is an advantage.
  • Team player with a positive and proactive attitude.
