Job summary

A property services company located in George Town, Malaysia, is seeking a qualified Accountant to manage the full spectrum of finance and accounts. The ideal candidate should hold a CIMA/CPA/ACCA or an equivalent degree, with a minimum of 10 years of experience, preferably in the retail or property sector. Responsibilities include financial reporting, compliance management, and mentoring junior staff. A strong command of English and attention to detail is essential. Knowledge of Chinese dialects is advantageous.

Responsibilities
  • Manage full spectrum of finance and accounts for the company
  • Provide consolidated monthly and quarterly financial and management reporting
  • Ensure Company’s financial accounting, tax and other related functions are in accordance and comply with corporate governance, legal statutory and group requirement
  • Manage internal and/or external bankers, auditors, tax agents and legal advisor
  • Prepare and review financial statements, budgets, and forecasts for multiple properties and projects.
  • Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and financial performance of properties, providing insights and recommendations to optimize profitability.
  • Train and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and capabilities.
Requirements
  • Qualified Accountant preferably with CIMA/CPA/ACCA or a degree in Accounting and member of Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) or minimum 10 years working experience in related
  • Experience in the retail or property sector is required.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting requirements, Malaysian tax legislation and practices
  • Well-versed in written and oral English
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Knowledge of Chinese dialects will be an added advantage
