Job description

This role supports the Finance Director and is responsible for managing full-set accounts for both Singapore and Malaysia entities. The accountant will handle day-to-day financial operations—including AP, AR, GL, month-end closing, tax filings, and financial reporting—while ensuring compliance with SFRS, IRAS, and relevant Malaysian accounting standards.

Responsibilities
  • Handle full-set accounts: AP, AR, GL, bank reconciliations, journal entries, month-end closing.
  • Prepare and review financial statements—Balance Sheet, P&L, cash flow, and variance analyses.
  • Oversee GST and corporate tax filings; ensure compliance with SFRS and IRAS guidelines.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Collaborate with external auditors; prepare audit schedules and support audit processes.
  • Generate ad-hoc and scheduled management reports.
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls and accounting SOPs.
  • Utilize Xero for accounting processes; improve workflows and ensure data integrity.
  • Assist with payroll administration and expense tracking as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or equivalent.
  • 3–4 years of relevant accounting experience for Singapore & Malaysia Companies.
  • Proven hands‑on experience with Xero accounting software.
  • Strong knowledge of Singapore tax principles—including GST and corporate tax.
  • Familiarity with SFRS and IRAS requirements.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g. VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
  • Excellent analytical abilities, attention to detail, and organizational discipline.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; team player with proactive mindset.
Preferred (But Not Mandatory)
  • Experience with audit processes and external auditor coordination.
  • Exposure to multi‑entity accounting or internal financial analysis.
  • Prior involvement in payroll functions and HR accounting procedures.
