A reputable oil company based in Johor, Malaysia, is seeking a skilled financial professional to prepare and analyze financial statements, maintain records, and assist with audits. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, 2 - 5 years of relevant experience, and is proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills are essential for this role as well as attention to detail. This position offers a competitive work environment in the thriving oil sector.
Financial Statement Preparation: Preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports at a statutory quality level.
Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate and detailed financial transactional records and reconciliations.
Data Analysis: Analyzing financial data to identify trends, cost drivers, revenue fluctuations and financial commitments for the firm.
Audits: Assisting with external audits for the individual’s respective companies.
Financial Reporting: Reporting financial information to management and other stakeholders on a regular cadence.
Reconciliations: Reconciling bank statements and other financial accounts on a weekly basis.
Problem Solving: Identifying, investigating and resolving discrepancies in financial records.
Communication: Communicating financial information clearly and effectively to non-finance stakeholders.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Advantageous to have a Professional Qualification (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
Experience: 2 - 5 years of experience in an accounting role.
Accounting Principles: Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and its application in management accounting.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Software Proficiency: Proficiency in utilizing accounting software and Microsoft Excel extensively.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Organization: Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and react to ad hoc management requirements.
Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Languages: Working proficiency in English and Bahasa.
