Senior Executive, SST and GST Compliance & Advisory
- Possess professional qualifications (MIT, MIA, MICPA, ACCA or equivalent) and/or a Degree/Master in Accounting/Taxation or equivalent.
- Membership in CTIM is an advantage.
- Minimum of 4 years relevant experience in indirect tax.
- Good understanding of indirect tax rules, regulations, and practices.
- Experience or knowledge in indirect tax is a strong advantage.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia, both verbal and written.
- Well-organized, proactive, and able to work independently.
- Strong work ethics, integrity, and self-motivated.
Key Responsibilities
SST and GST Compliance
- Advise on review approaches for SST-02/SST-02A.
- Monitor review progress to ensure timely completion.
- Review SST returns for accuracy and completeness.
- Attend meetings to understand GST/SST issues.
- Assess implications of GST/SST on business issues and structures.
- Provide advisory and helpdesk support based on legislations.
- Assist in tax exposures during mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring.
- Prepare and review due diligence reports.
- Assist in liaising with RMCD and MoF for applications and clarifications.
GST/SST Audit and Refunds
- Advise on audit approaches and respond to audit inquiries.
- Coordinate with business units to ensure compliance.
- Manage documentation and submissions for audits and refunds.
- Prepare appeal letters if necessary.
SST Health Check and Miscellaneous
- Plan and review SST health check strategies.
- Gather and review relevant documentation for compliance.
- Identify potential risks and recommend remedial actions.
- Apply for confirmations or rulings as needed.
Additional Duties
- Support the group on tax matters as required.
- Perform ad-hoc SST assignments.
- Handle EPF and SOCSO matters.
