Job summary

A leading international freight forwarder in Malaysia is seeking a SEA IMPORT EXECUTIVE to manage sea freight imports and coordinate logistics. Responsibilities include preparing import documents, liaising with customers and shipping lines, and ensuring timely delivery of goods. Applicants should have 3-5 years of relevant experience and be proficient in Bahasa Malaysia, English, and Mandarin. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work within a team are essential for success in this role.

Job description

We are an established International Freight Forwarder. In view of our expansion programme, we invite suitable candidates to join our dynamic team at ECX Global Forwarding (M) Sdn Bhd.

SEA IMPORT EXECUTIVE
Key Responsibilities:

Liaising with customers for sea freight import jobs and requirements.

To prepare and verify all necessary import documents, including Bills of Lading (MBL/HBL), Import Permits, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists and Arrival Notices.

To liaise with shipping lines, carriers, co-loaders and transporters to ensure timely delivery of goods.

To provide proactive shipment status updates and resolve disputes or delays that may arise during the import process.

To prepare invoices, calculate taxes/duties and ensure payment is received before final clearance.

Coordinating with internal teams to ensure smooth import clearance and delivery to final destination.

To manage, monitor and ensure proper filing of the completed job.

To perform any other duties assigned by immediate superiors.

Job Requirements:

Minimum 3 - 5 years of working experience in the similar position, preferably in the freight forwarding and logistics industry.

Qualification of Diploma and/or Degree in Logistics and Transportation or any equivalent academic.

Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia, English, Mandarin (both spoken and written) is highly preferred to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.

Excellent communication and problem solving skills.

The candidate must be a team player with a high level of integrity and commitment.
