Job summary

An educational institution is seeking a reliable van driver in Johor, Malaysia, responsible for transporting students safely to school and events. Job description

Responsibilities

• Transport students from multiple locations to and from school, and for special events such as field trips.
• Assist students with getting on and off the van/bus as needed.
• Discipline students as needed to maintain a safe environment for all passengers.
• Ensure safety of all passengers.
• Perform vehicle care and maintenance duties using the vehicle checklist on a regular basis, including cleanliness and routine safety inspections to ensure vehicles are in good working condition before and after use.
• Conduct vehicle inspections (mechanical soundness, lights, brakes, seats, sufficient fuel, safety belts).
• Obey all traffic laws.

General Driving Duties

• Transport staff to various locations.
• Attend safety meetings as required.

Secondary Duties & Responsibilities

• Support Facility & Maintenance – Non-Driving Related Tasks.
• Provide general support to the Facility Team as directed.
• Perform building maintenance tasks (replace light bulbs, upkeep railings, wall painting support).
• Arrange classroom equipment & set up function spaces.
• Respond to facility-related requests and inquiries.
• Perform ad-hoc duties whenever assigned by the superior.

Requirements

• Possess a valid Malaysian driving licence with a good safety record.
• Prior experience as a school van or bus driver is highly advantageous.
• Polite and professional disposition.
• Ability to remain calm in stressful driving situations (e.g., at rush hour).
• Working knowledge of the Johor Bahru area.
• Working knowledge of Waze/Google Maps.
• Ability to resolve basic repair and maintenance problems.
