Responsibilities
- Assist Project Manager on leading complex quoting activities landed at Transpak Penang, including cost modelling, margin analysis, and competitive pricing strategies for Sales/Project Manager to approve.
- Support the Project Manager in conducting cost analysis to provide insights for strategic pricing adjustments and business direction.
- Provide technical support for engineering related inquiries. Work closely with Engineering team to communicate customer feedback and product improvement.
- Work with Procurement Team on sourcing to ensure quoting activities are conducted smoothly and quotes are submitted within lead time.
- Work closely with Sales and Project Management Team to understand latest business direction and strategic performance price calculation and analysis with adherence to the business strategy for quoting activities.
- Maintain good relationships with customers from Project Management Team, Sales or Procurement. Follow up closely with customers on project bidding status, award status as well as understanding win/loss reasons.
- Assist Project Manager to set up new awarded projects, including coordinating internal FA meetings, fit tests at customer sites and ensuring customer NPI units are shipped smoothly.
- Act as a communication bridge between Sales/Project Management Site Operations, translating sales discussions into actionable operational plans and ensuring seamless execution.
- Ensure customer accounts are well-managed and foster strong relationships to meet and exceed customer satisfaction expectations.
- Analyze customer behaviour through order patterns, shipment data, and forecasts, delivering performance insights to Project Management for data-driven business planning.
- Maintain and update customer pricelists and Penang quotation board.
- Prepare monthly reports on RFQ win rate, customer sales performance, and end user sales performance.
- Represent the Project Manager in their absence, including attending internal and customer meetings.
- Train and mentor junior sales support staff on quoting best practices, tools, and systems.
- Proactively recommend actionable improvement plans to enhance the department’s functionality and operational efficiency.
- Understand the requirements for a QMS, including documented information, planning and determining process interactions.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by the HOD from time to time.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience in Sales Support, Project Coordination, or Commercial Operations, preferably in a manufacturing, engineering, or packaging environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas for pricing), Word, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of ERP system such as Sage X3, SAP, or similar platform is an advantage.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with internal teams and customers.
- Solid understanding of sales and operational processes, and ability to translate sales intent into execution.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills across departments (sales, engineering, procurement, operations).
- Exhibits analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, while actively mentoring junior colleagues by offering practical guidance and solutions.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Ability to build and maintain teamwork and collaboration.
- Must have own transport and be willing to work in Sungai Jawi, Penang.
