A leading laboratory services provider is seeking a Business Development Executive to drive growth for their laboratory services in northern Malaysia. This role requires experience in sales related to laboratory testing or medical devices, with strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in a remote setting. The ideal candidate will proactively identify prospects, maintain client relationships, and effectively negotiate service agreements, contributing to overall business success.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2–5 years of sales experience, preferably in laboratory testing services.
  • Experience in medical devices, healthcare, or life sciences preferred.
  • Experience presenting technical or scientific information to customers is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Independently identify, prospect, and onboard new customers.
  • Conduct outreach activities (emails, calls, site visits) to attract clients.
  • Develop tailored proposals, quotations, and service packages based on customer needs.
  • Build long-term relationships with medical device manufacturers.
  • Maintain communication with existing clients to ensure satisfaction.

Job description
Summary

Responsible for independently driving business growth for Sanichem Resources’ laboratory services catering to medical device manufacturers. This includes promoting Microbiology and Chemistry laboratory testing solutions across the northern region of Malaysia.

This role operates under a remote working culture, requiring a self-driven, highly disciplined individual with a strong sales mindset and excellent interpersonal skills. The successful candidate must be proactive in identifying new prospects, maintaining customer relationships, and representing the company professionally in the field.

Initial onboarding and technical training will be conducted at the Headquarters in Bandar Enstek, Negeri Sembilan, after which the candidate will work independently from Penang.

Responsibilities
  • Independently identify, prospect, and onboard new customers in the northern region.
  • Conduct regular outreach activities (emails, calls, site visits) to attract new clients.
  • Develop tailored proposals, quotations, and service packages based on customer needs.
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with medical device manufacturers, importers, distributors, OEMs, and healthcare institutions.
  • Maintain consistent communication with existing clients to ensure satisfaction and retention.
  • Collaborate with HQ team for project coordination, sample logistics, and reporting.
  • Participate in exhibitions, industry events, and training sessions as required.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes related to medical devices.
  • Provide feedback to internal teams for improving service offerings and customer experience.
  • Demonstrate strong discipline, self-motivation, and time management while working remotely.
  • Plan weekly field visits, appointments, and prospecting schedules independently.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of daily activities, customer interactions, and follow-ups.
  • Record customer interactions, inquiries, and follow-up actions in internal databases.
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in any Science related program.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of sales experience, preferably in:
  • Laboratory testing services
  • Medical devices
  • Healthcare or life sciences
  • Pharmaceuticals or biotech
  • Experience presenting technical or scientific information to customers is an added advantage.
