Job summary

A leading logistics company in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced sales/business development professional in international freight forwarding. The ideal candidate has over 5 years of experience and a solid track record of achieving sales targets. Responsibilities include identifying new business opportunities, maintaining client relationships, and negotiating contracts. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of sales/business development experience in international freight forwarding.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets.

Heading/intro:

Our client is a multinational company specializing in international freight forwarding and overseas logistics, with a presence across Europe, Asia-Pacific, North America, and Africa.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in air and sea freight forwarding.
  • Develop and maintain long term relationships with existing and potential clients.
  • Qualify new opportunities within logistics in-house companies, small to medium sized companies with sizable logistics activities.
  • Establish sales strategies, target lists, volume goals into relevant market segments.
  • Manage activities including calls, sales presentations and meetings.
  • Work closely with operations and customer service teams to ensure smooth execution of shipments.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing in line with company policies and profitability goals.
Skills & Experience Required:
  • 5 years of sales/business development experience with international freight forwarding.
  • Knowledge of international trade, shipping modes, and customs procedures.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills to do business presentation and contract negotiations.
