Job summary

A leading engineering solutions provider in Malaysia is seeking a skilled Sales Engineer to drive business development in the oil & gas maintenance sector. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and 3–5 years of experience in engineering. Responsibilities include managing client inquiries, proposing technical solutions, and achieving sales targets. Strong negotiation and communication skills are essential. This role requires occasional travel to client sites.

  • Minimum 3–5 years of working experience in the engineering field.

  • To identify, develop, and establish new as well as long‑term business opportunities by engaging with existing and potential clients.
  • To build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and stakeholders within the oil & gas maintenance sector.
  • To collaborate with proposal and engineering teams to manage customer inquiries, understand client technical requirements, and propose suitable engineering solutions technically and commercially.
  • To involve in process quotations, cost analysis, negotiate terms and close sales successfully.
  • To recommend total solutions and promote existing, improved and new products to customers.
  • To secure new projects and follow up on ongoing projects to achieve sales targets.
  • Maintain accurate customer and sales records.
  • Achieve monthly and annual sales targets.
  • Prepare sales and project reports for management.
  • Willing to travel to client sites and project locations when required.
Requirements
  • Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of working experience in the engineering field. Experience in Oil & Gas, Power Plant, or Palm Oil Mill industries is an added advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Multilingual proficiency, both written and spoken, is an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to take initiative and work independently.
  • Possess good negotiation, communication, and decision‑making skills.
