Job description
Responsibilities
  • Work with Regional Sales & Marketing Manager to develop sales strategies and plans aimed at increasing consumer awareness, sales, market share and profits.
  • Assist Regional Sales & Marketing Manager in the preparation of annual budgets and accurate sales forecasts for own area of responsibility.
  • Manage and direct sales to implement sales strategies and achieve sales targets in own area of responsibility.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with major and minor customers driving volume and brand loyalty in own area of responsibility.
  • Work with technical function to deliver high quality products to our customers.
  • Achieve the given sales targets for the sales KPI’s, volumes, market share, selling price and margin through sales and marketing programs actively participate in all of the provided training activities.
  • Ensure you actively apply best practice sales and selling skill and implement meeting planning prior to face-to-face calls, building rapport during meetings, apply the Sales Pyramid, different our product offer, explain Heidelberg Materials Malaysia’s competitive advantages, ask open questions, handle objections professionally, apply the skills of negotiation, close the deal where appropriate and ensure you have high levels of product and technical knowledge.
  • Participate in continuous training and development, performance appraisals, work toward your targets and standards, provide feedback to all functions and levels, participate in the one-on-one coaching sessions and your performance reviews.
  • Cost control through effective management of the sales process and your own area of responsibility.
  • Be conversant and ensure compliance with requirements of the Company in the areas of the Malaysian Competition Act 2010 and the HC group’s competition policy, Environmental, Health and Safety, QA, HR and Credit.
  • Conduct regular market visits and site visits and secure sales, build rapport with your customers, handle objections professionally, ask open questions, differentiate our product offering, discuss Heidelberg Materials Malaysia’s competitive advantages, effectively negotiate and close a face-to-face customer call.
  • Work closely with Credit Control Department to maintain the account receivables within target.
  • Ensure that you actively assist the Distribution, Allocations, Central Dispatch or Weighbridge operations and always communicate professionally with these personnel.
  • Highlight any delivery issues at the time they occur and at your monthly sales meeting or directly to the CD manager or operations person in charge.
  • Ensure compliance requirements are met through organizational and procedural measures including implementation of Group guidelines, performing trainings, monitoring compliance etc.
  • Proactively participate in health & safety initiatives to continuously improve the company's health & safety performance.
  • Management and ownership of health, safety and environment policy and site HSE objectives.
  • Management and ownership of processes and culture within operation by identifying workplace hazards, minimizing identified HSE risk with adequately control of the hazards to achieve zero harm with continual improvement in consultation with HSE Department.
  • In addition to these functions, you are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required.
Qualifications
  • Possess Degree in Marketing/Business Administration or Bachelor Degree in Civil/ Mechanical /Mineral Resources/Material Science Engineering or its equivalent.
