Job Description
Job Purpose

To ensure a safe, healthy, and compliant working environment across MFE’s formwork manufacturing facility and project sites by enforcing occupational safety and health (OSH) regulations, minimising risks, and supporting operational excellence in line with MFE and Group safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
1. Regulatory Compliance & Green Book Duties
  • Act as DOSH-registered Safety Officer (Green Book Holder) for MFE.
  • Ensure full compliance with OSHA 1994 and related regulations.
  • Liaise with DOSH, NIOSH, CIDB, local authorities, and auditors.
  • Prepare, submit, and maintain statutory documents (e.g. JKKP forms, accident reports, monthly safety reports).
2. Manufacturing & Formwork Safety
  • Monitor safety practices at aluminium formwork manufacturing lines, welding, cutting, machining, lifting, and material handling operations.
  • Ensure safe operation of machinery, tools, cranes, forklifts, and lifting equipment.
  • Verify implementation of Safe Work Procedures (SWP) and Method Statements for manufacturing and site works.
  • Conduct HIRARC for factory processes and formwork installation activities.
3. Site & Contractor Safety Management
  • Conduct regular safety inspections at factory, warehouses, and project sites.
  • Monitor contractors, subcontractors, and visitors for compliance with MFE safety requirements.
  • Issue safety notices, corrective actions, and stop-work instructions where necessary.
  • Investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe acts/conditions.
  • Prepare investigation reports with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Ensure timely reporting to management and authorities (DOSH).
  • Track and close corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
5. Training & Safety Culture
  • Conduct safety induction for new employees, foreign workers, and contractors.
  • Organise toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and awareness campaigns.
  • Promote safety culture aligned with MFE / Group values and zero-accident mindset.
  • Ensure availability, proper use, and maintenance of PPE.
  • Conduct inspections of firefighting systems, first aid facilities, and emergency equipment.
  • Develop, implement, and test Emergency Response Plans (ERP) and conduct drills.
  • Act as a member of the Emergency Response Team (ERT).
Qualifications
Requirements & Qualifications
Mandatory
  • DOSH Registered Safety Officer (Green Book Holder) – valid & active.
  • Minimum Diploma / Degree in Occupational Safety & Health or related discipline.
  • 2–5 years of experience in manufacturing and/or construction/formwork environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian OSH laws and statutory requirements.
Preferred
  • Experience in formwork systems, construction materials manufacturing, welding, or heavy industry.
  • CIDB Safety Card, NIOSH certifications.
  • Knowledge of ISO 45001 / ISO 14001.
  • Strong regulatory and compliance knowledge.
  • Hands-on, site-oriented, and detail-driven.
  • Good communication skills (shopfloor to management level).
  • Firm enforcement with practical problem-solving approach.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety reporting tools.
