Job description
Responsibilities
  1. Implementing ESH policies and procedures across the organization. Review existing safety and health and environmental policy and update according to the latest legislation.
  2. Advise on safety measures: Provide expert advice to the employer on implementing necessary measures to ensure the safety and health of all employees in the workplace.
  3. Inspect workplace: Conduct thorough inspections of machinery, equipment, processes, and labor to identify potential hazards and prevent bodily injury.
  4. Investigate incidents: Report and investigate accidents, near-miss incidents, dangerous occurrences, occupational poisoning, and occupational diseases in the workplace.
  5. Maintain records: Serve as the Secretary of the Safety and Health Committee (SHC) and maintain accurate ESH records and prepare performance reports.
  6. Review and recommend: Review and make recommendations for improving existing OSH practices at the site.
  7. Assist in inspections: Assist the SHC in inspections and evaluating the effectiveness of measures taken to comply with the Act.
  8. Collect and analyze data: Collect, analyze, and maintain statistics on accidents, dangerous occurrences, occupational poisoning, and occupational diseases.
  9. Prepare reports: Prepare all minutes of meetings and reports pertaining to OSH for submission and records purposes.
  10. Implement safety instructions: Implement instructions issued by the employer regarding workplace safety and health, aligning with environmental laws, safety regulations, and ISO standards, and reporting non-compliance.
  11. Conduct assessments: Conduct regular assessments to identify and mitigate environment, safety, and health hazards.
  12. Perform inspections: Perform routine inspections to enforce safety protocols and address hazards or unsafe practices.
  13. Deliver training: Plan and deliver training to staff and subcontractors for awareness and adherence to ESH policies.
  14. Develop emergency plans: Develop and implement emergency response plans, ensuring personnel are trained in procedures.
  15. Manage Environment, Safety & Health (ESH) in factory to ensure compliance to applicable legal requirements.
  16. Ensure that the company is complying with the OSH Act, Environmental Quality Act and any related Act within the responsibilities.
  17. Liaise with DOSH or DOE officer for audit or inspection. Maintain DOSH logbook, and filing all related authority documentations.
  18. To submit yearly JKKP8 online submission. Ability to evaluate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), sourcing for suitable PPE, distributes the PPE and ensures proper use and maintenance of the PPE.
  19. To assist in customer/supplier audit regarding Safety, Health and Environmental documentation.
  20. Propose, prepare and coordinate for yearly plan for Safety, Health and Environmental monitoring, programme, training and activities.
  21. Promote a safety culture and enhance safety awareness at worksites by conducting periodic inspections and/ or training programmed.
  22. Assisting role in planning and executing initiatives as per the Annual SHE Plan (i.e. SHE Training, Audit, Inspections, Induction, Meeting, Discussion).
Qualifications
  1. Valid Green Book: Possess a valid Green Book registered with DOSH as a Safety and Health Officer.
  2. Manufacturing knowledge: Have knowledge of manufacturing safety and health practices.
  3. Experience: Have 1-2 years of experience in ESH roles, with hands‑on experience in safety and environmental management.
